      Synopsis:

The Thailand Phil takes a season ending bow in arguably the greatest piano concerto ever penned: Rachmaninoff’s Second with the indefatigable San Jittakarn as soloist. Nicknamed “the last Romantic” Rachmaninoff continued to write fresh and imposing works in a style long abandoned by the composers of his time. But we are ever grateful for it! His works remain at the core of the piano and orchestral repertoires with huge appeal to the contemporary listener.

The Thailand Phil takes a final curtain call in this exciting Fourteenth Season with a veritable tour of the world’s great melodies. Tchaikovsky’s most memorable scores: the amorous Romeo and Juliet, the infectious memories of a Roman tourist in Capriccio Italiano, and the exultant 1812 Overture.

What better way to say “goodbye for now and hope to see you soon again” than the 1812 Overture’s bombastic conclusion. Maestro Scarano leads a finale for the ages and the whole TPO team thanks its wonderful audience and dynamic guest soloists for a season to remember.
